A found a few shots from a 15mm WWII game we played a while back with the Combat Cards. I was playing the Russians who were manning a rearguard roadblock in an attempt to delay the hotly pursuing Germans. John M. played the Germans, and was near giddy with the fact he had three Panthers in his column.
At the start of the game all Russian units were Concealed [which means they cannot be targeted until they are exposed] while the German column had just deployed in preparation of advancing into the village.
After several turns the Germans really had a grasp on what they had to do, and began to roll up one of the Russian’s flanks. The Russians, lacking any real mobility, had a hard time shifting any forces over to seal the breach.
In the end, the near fanatical Russian infantry managed to engage and take out one of the Panthers, which, combined with the extended time it took the Germans to conduct their flanking maneuver, lead to a very slim Russian victory. All-in-all it was a great game, and a great way to spend an afternoon. Someday, John and I will have to do the follow-up rematch!
Well, until next time…
Cheers!
