END OF THE UNDERHIVE

Recently the Necromunda league being run at the store wrapped up its inaugural run. Based on everything we heard from the players, it was a very fun league. Much of the credit for that goes to Chris L. for organizing and administering everything.

GANGERS ATTACK!

For the final night Chris planned a huge mega-battle pitting the gangs against an invasion force of Chaos in the underhive. I am not sure of all the details, but as I understood it this game was heavily weighted against the gangs (Chaos Terminators, demons, etc. vs. simple gangers).

Unfortunately that isn’t how the scenario played out. The gangers annihilated the invaders! Here are some shots from that final, blow-out game. It sounded like everyone had a great time so I would expect to see another Necromunda League real soon!

BACK TO THE PRESENT

The Saturday morning crowd has been coming up again playing their Cold War Commander games. Recently, they were playing a hypothetical “what if” scenario in a far away land called Georgia, next to another land called Russia. Their game was an exercise in understanding the military situations of both sides and what options they truly have.

The battle proved an interesting one – the hoots and hollers from bad dice rolls were heard most of the day. I don’t know who won this battle, but it seemed all of the players enjoyed themselves – most commenting as they left that they had new insight into events happening elsewhere in the world.

I am curious as to what other scenarios they might be running in the future…

MOVING AHEAD WITH THE YANKS & REBS  

Just a quick update on the American Civil War efforts at the shop. Doug and Todd have been furiously painting to get their 15mm armies ready for the tabletop. And they have been successful! Check out these pictures of a recent game. 

The guys have been primarily using the “Magic dip” method of painting which has yielded great results at a phenomenal rate of completion. For those who are interested they are primarily using the Johnny Reb III rules, but both have indicated a willingness to play other rule sets too.

The guys are planning to start running demo games at the shop soon, in the hopes of enticing a few more people to join the cause. Keep an eye on the calendar for dates & times.

THE RUSKIES ARE READY – THE GERMANS COUNTER  

Just a quick update on my 15mm WWII Russian front forces: I completed my small Russian force and added a few German pieces as well. Here is one of three German Panthers I finished, as well as a stand of my Russian infantry.
