CATCHING UP
The blog entries have been few and far between lately, but I am going to try and start catching up over the coming weeks. We have been very busy at the shop (I have quite a backlog of photos and info) so time has been a little tight. Now, with the summer winding down, the schedule settles down a bit and should afford me some more time for blogging.
Personally I been finishing a 15mm WWII German force for the Russian front, and I am almost down with a Russian matching force. I have been casting Hirst Arts bricks like a madman in preparation for an Egyptian themed dungeon tombs set. I have been researching and bringing in new products for the shop – the latest being very nice flip-top cardboard boxes to be used for affordable figure cases. And I have been helping a lot of painters and modelers learn new techniques and how to use some of the specialty modeling tools we have at the shop.
And even with all of the above, I have also been getting in a lot of games with the Combat Cards – including teaching everyone who wants to try the cards. As we have been fielding a lot of questions about when/if the cards are going to be published, we have decided to move ahead on a beta version release of the cards locally. Keep an eye out for more information on that in the near future…
For this entry I will include some pictures of a Combat Cards skirmish game we recently played using 40K forces. It was a loose grouping of Imperial Guard refugees fighting (unwillingly) alongside Orks to fend off a Chaos incursion. It was a very fun game with a lot of twists and turns – and smoke. You can ask Casey though about that if you see him …
Until next time…
May all of your strategies be brilliant!
Dan
