AT-43 TOURNAMENT STYLE
Recently we held the first AT-43 tournament at the shop. Mike Z. ran it in honor of one of our regulars’ birthday (who, incidentally, will be moving out of the state soon – we will miss you Nick!). There was a very good turnout for the inaugural event – seven players and one judge in all!
The shop set-up all of the terrain for the games – including several new pieces of terrain I had finished just for the event. Mike wrote three really interesting scenarios which the players were not allowed to see until the round it was played. The tournament lasted three rounds with players being awarded points based on generalship and sportsmanship.
Everyone appeared to have a great time, with many war stories being shared at the end as the prizes were being tabulated. After the winners were announced there were many unexpected questions about when the next tournament would be, which did leave Mike scrambling for an answer (next Feb. was decided on – see the Forum posting and Event Calendar for more information).
AT-43 is being played a lot at the store now, so if you are interested in it, have questions, or would just like to try a game stop on by the shop. The usual nights are Tuesdays & Thursdays, but games are occasionally played on Saturdays.
Well, until next time…
Cheers!
Dan
