MORE BLITZKRIEG & COLD WAR COMMANDER
I thought I would post some pictures of recent Blitzkrieg Commander (BKC) and Cold War Commander (CWC) games that were played at the store.
THE RUSSIAN FRONT
The first one is a BKC game in 6mm Micro Armor – Russians vs. Germans in a mid ’44 meeting encounter. John was playing the Germans, while a relative newcomer, Todd, the Russians. This was Todd’s first game solo, so we warned John to be merciful. Of course he paid no heed – but it did almost cost him…
The Russians got off to a very poor start; the Germans aggressively came after them with armored assaults everywhere. The German’s artillery was very effective, and their targeting superb. But to the ol’ Ruskies’ credit they hung tough and brought the Germans all the way back to their break point (almost) before the Russians were forced to retire from the battle.
The picture is from the fighting around a small village on a low rolling hill:
This one shows the Russians hordes closing with the Germans:
SOMEWHERE IN WEST GERMANY...
The second game was a CWC game played in 6mm Micro Armor with four players (John, George, Adam & Tom) in a definite “what-if” scenario – what if East & West Germany united after the collapse of communism and went on a rampage forcing the US, and an Israeli contingent, to try and reign them in.
I don’t know exactly who one (maybe on of the players could post something on the forums) but the game looked pretty cool so I snapped a shot:
THE STEPPES OF RUSSIAN (again)
The third game was another 6mm BKC game – this time I was playing the Germans and Doug the Russians. All I want to say about this battle is the terrain looked good, and Doug mercifully ended the battle early.
This is a shot of the Germans stalling out in front of… er, assaulting a small farmstead:
Until next time…
Cheers!
