I haven't made an entry in a while as I have been working on a lot of projects - including a middle eastern village miniatures table for the Recon convention this weekend. Hopefully I will have pictures of it to post next week .
ALL THINGS ZOMBIE
A couple of weeks ago we played a game of All Things Zombie at the store. Chris Lee brought his hordes of excellent zombies, as well as a table full of great looking terrain, to run the game. Jeff P., Robb S. and myself were the heroes trying to save the day. Chris was the brutal zombiemaster.
Once again the scenario hinged around "Miss Trude's Dance Emporium". We had to free the girls trapped there and escape the zombie infestation. It was a challenging scenario, which resulted in an unbelievable horde of zombies on the table.
Needless to say our intrepid group of zombie "dodgers" manage to get Miss Trude's and save the day - well sort of. The building was surrounded with hordes of zombies, more than we could every dispatch and survive, when we had to call it due to time. I would like to think we would have been resourceful enough to figure out a solution, but who knows...
Here are some pictures from the game:
COLD WAR COMMANDER
We have also started playing Cold War Commander, the sister game to our favorite WW II miniatures game Blitzkrieg Commander.
CWC covers modern conflicts from post-WW II to today. We started playing hypothetical WW III scenarios NATO v. Warpac circa 1985. The rules work just as well as BKC, but everything is much deadlier!
We are really having a blast, playing almost every week now. Hopefully I should have some pictures of my early '80's US and Soviet forces soon.
WW II NAVAL MINIATURES
I should also mention that WW II naval miniatures have exploded at the shop. Everyone really likes the new General Quarters III rules and, of course, the GHQ micro armor ships. We have Japanese, (several) American, German and a fledgling Italian fleet playing now, with more under construction.
I have yet to build my fleet (it will be British) but hope to soon. I also hope to be able to post some pictures of the battles as well too.
If you are interested in joining in, they play almost every Saturday evening at the shop and love to teach newbies.
Until next time...
Dan
