BLITZKRIEG COMMANDER AT RECON
On Saturday November 4 we took a large game of WWII
Blitzkrieg Commander to the local miniatures convention
ReCon.
Chris L. helped me put it on. It was an overstrength Soviet tank regiment attempting to force a breakthrough the German lines, which were defended by an understrength armored battalion with infantry support attached.
The game moved along at a quick pace, but still took almost 6 hours. The outcome really hung in the balance until the Germans finally failed the breakpoint test and withdrew from the field allowing the Russian breakthrough.
Everyone who play had a great time, and Chris took some great pictures. Here is the table at the beginning. Notice the massed Soviets hordes plodding towards the pooor German defenders (
guess who's side I was playing...):
Here is the Russian attack against the village:
The Russian juggernaust is picking up speed across the front:
And finally, the carnage as the Germans are forced to give way:
MODERN COMMANDER
The modern version of the rules come out in December ("
Cold War Commander") and we can't wait. Several of us have already begun to pick out our armies.
To help with this, I brought the N Scale Minifigs Modern line into the store. So far I am very pleased with the quality and price of the mini's. Unfortunately either way it is going to cost me a lot of money, as I seriously doubt I will be able to stop with just one army

...
Well, until next time...
Cheers!
Dan
